Current Situation
Challenges
The grove has gone unattended for about 10 years.
Trees require pruning, harvest assistance, and general care.
Tree & Oil Characteristics:
Despite minimal care, these olive trees produce an abundant harvest every two years.
Their “wild” state, is untouched by chemicals, nourished only by surrounding foliage, and irrigated solely by rainfall.

Adapter and Grove: A win-win situation
By supporting the grove, adopters secure a premium, sustainably-produced olive oil, while actively contributing to the preservation of a heritage grove and its timeless natural beauty—a meaningful, mutually beneficial partnership.
For generations, olive trees have shaped life on our island.
Some of these trees are over 200 years old, standing quietly through wars, migration, storms, and changing times.
Today, we are opening a new way for guests, friends, and supporters of Mathraki to become part of that story.
Through the Mathraki Olive Tree Stewardship Program, individuals and families can symbolically adopt one of our island olive trees and help support its annual care, pruning, harvesting, and traditional olive oil production.
In return, each steward receives:
A numbered olive tree assigned in their name
A personalized tree identification marker on the island
Annual updates and photos from Mathraki
4 liters of premium extra virgin olive oil from the grove delivered to their home each year
A lasting connection to a small Greek island community
This is not simply about olive oil.
It is about preserving trees that have stood here for centuries, supporting regenerative island life, and allowing people from around the world to remain connected to a place they love.
Some places you visit.
Some places stay with you.
Mathraki is one of them.

We are glad to see that you have come this far in learning about the project. As a graduate of New York City College in Tourism and Hospitality, we operators of a Bed & Breakfast on a Mathraki island, where we also care for an 85-tree olive grove that needs dedicated attention.
We’re seeking a partner to adopt the grove, enabling us to produce exceptional extra virgin olive oil with unique branding opportunities. Ideal candidates for this project include high-end restaurants, culinary connoisseurs, or those passionate about sustainable agriculture. Under our supervision, we’re excited to launch this initiative and share the grove’s bounty with like-minded partners.
Please send an SMS to +1 516 800 1675 with your interest and a convenient time for us to discuss this project. I look forward to the opportunity to collaborate.
